Enigin - Tips you may not think of

Here at Enigin we want to help you to save energy. Our products, ideas and policies are all about energy efficiency. We regularly update you with ideas and tips on what you can do just on a small scale yourself! Here are some ideas I thought might help. Most are ones we have heard regularly, and perhaps would already think of ourselves, or have already done. But there were a few I personally had not thought of, so I will share them with you!

From a UK Utility company who suggests such things as:

• Insulating your loft - upto 75% of homes lose energy through poor insulation
• Upgrade your boiler - newer boilers are being made more energy efficient
• Fit a jacket to your hot water tank! - thats right, actually treat your boiler to a new winter jacket.
• Switch it off - evaluate how you use energy and start switching things off
• Energy efficiency lightbulbs - upto 30% of your bill is made up of lighting
• Keep in the heat - will stop you needing the heating on for longer
• Switch off standby - upto 85% of energy is still used on standby
• Shower more - instead of baths, showers are more efficient
• Keep an eye on your energy usage - and monitor it
• Don’t overfill your kettle - more water boiling means more energy used
