Going Green
By Madelleine Whittaker
Are you turning green?
So has the greenness of the world starts to change from the sunny, shiny summer, are you remaining green or going with it?
The season is making its change slowly. The leaves already turning brown and yellow. The evenings are getting darker. It has all come about rather suddenly! As usual, but are you changing, not to autumnal colours but are you turning Green?
At Enigin we are concerned with organisations going “green” through energy efficiency.
During the summer it is so much easier to save energy, remain efficient and aware. We don’t use our heating, washing can be dried outside in the sun, lights don’t need to be turned on as often. We perhaps even do less cooking, eating more salads and lighter meals. Our health and attitude is also affected and makes a large impact.
In the sunshine we all feel happier, lighter in our air, freer. It makes us feel so much better when it is bright and sunny.
So can we remain the same despite the season changing and the outdoors transforming for the next season? I think we can, although it may take more effort on our part. But surely from the lovely, free summer we have had we have the stored up energy to keep us going for the autumn and winter?
As we start to look at making changes and putting our heating on, turning a light on as the evening draws in, can we stop and ask ourselves how much we need it? Learn to control the need for it and make changes where necessary. Start putting new ideas in place within your home or business which can solve such issues and help you be more efficient. Meaning that you don’t need the heating or the lights as much.
There are so many ways out there we can all save energy, and now especially is the time to start doing it.
